This is the forecast for my area for the next few days. Note that this is after a blizzard which shut down a fair portion of the city for two days.

this means they won't start using SALT on the roads until maybe next week.
Salt, no. Sand, yes.
Bumper cars, anyone?
After witnessing 8 different accident out in front of work the other day (two of which involved two different city busses) the city finally drove by and threw down some sand. The police were so busy at that particular intersection that they hung out in our parking lot and the one across the street for most of the day.
